Polaris Vega® XT
Break new ground in OEM surgical tool tracking and navigation applications with the optical measurement solution that can provide fast, accurate tracking for emerging robotic-assisted procedures.
Our Premier Optical Tracker that Supports OEM Robotic Surgery Systems
Our premier optical tracker, the Polaris Vega® XT combines unrivalled measurement accuracy, high-speed tracking, and low latency to support the integration of 3D tracking within the workflow of surgeon-controlled and autonomous OEM robotic surgery systems and applications.
When used as a component of an OEM robotic-assisted surgical system, the Polaris Vega XT can track the positions of the robot base and end-effector in 3D space via attached navigation markers. Markers can also be attached to handheld OEM surgical instruments. The Polaris Vega XT can track the robot, surgical instruments, and patient in real time relative to each other within the same coordinate system, during the same procedure. The positions and orientations of each tracked object(s) are uniquely identified by their distinct marker configurations, and instantly localized and visualized within the OEM host interface.
Exceptional Measurement Accuracy
The Polaris Vega XT delivers volumetric accuracy to 0.12 mm RMS with minimal noise. Track instruments with total confidence; hardware characterization and factory calibration optimize accuracy for measurements that are highly repeatable and reliable.

Tight Data Synchronization
The Polaris Vega XT uses the Precision Time Protocol (PTP) for timestamping and network synchronization, as communicated via Ethernet. System processing and timestamping occur at the hardware level, allowing for tighter, more precise data communication.

Fast Measurement Rate
The Polaris Vega XT has a maximum frame rate of 250 Hz and latency of just 4 milliseconds, which allows for fast and efficient transfer of tracking data within robot-control systems. The frame rate remains constant even when multiple tracked objects are in view.
|Maximum Frame Rate
|<4 ms (typical)
Extended Pyramid Volume (optional)
Ease and Speed of Integration
The Polaris Vega XT includes software, source code, and API tools to streamline the design and development of rigid bodies and tools, and to speed integration with OEM software applications. The software suite also includes utilities to support ongoing system diagnostics and maintenance.
|Maximum Number of Tools
|Load up-to 25 tools

NDI tracking and measurement products are general metrology components that can be integrated into customer products, research experiments, and/or as components of medical devices that require precision measurement and tracking. While NDI components and technology can be integrated into original equipment manufacturer (OEM) medical devices, they are not specifically intended for a given application and, as such, have not been developed or manufactured in accordance with medical device standards. It remains the responsibility of the OEM customer or end-user to determine and test the suitability of NDI components and technology for their intended use, including performing any required ethics approval, verification, and validation required to demonstrate suitability and compliance. System-level testing, certification, and validation are the responsibility of the original equipment manufacturer or the applicable end-user and should be completed prior to the use of NDI products or technologies in any application.
